The Department of Humanities and Social Science, newly founded in BIPT, has 6 staff rooms, covering the fields of environmental economy and management, management in travel industry, DengXiaoping theory, philosophy and history, moral education , and the culture and art. In 2002, RMB 300,000 yuan was invested in building the simulation lab.     There are 36 persons in all, including 5 professors, 5 vice professors, 2 doctors, and 14 masters. All the teachers have well-knit learning, precise attitude of pursing and active thoughts. They are highly honored in their research fields.     Now, the department has two majors: public management and tourism management. New majors about human culture are under assessing and discussing.     As a main route of moral education and the soul of quality education, the department gained effectual achievements. Eminent lessons are made, as the piolit, a series of lectures on human culture and civilization and otheractivities, as the supplements.     The Department has a stronger group of teaching and researching. The department has published monograph and 42 papers (there into, 22 papers were published on Chinese core periodicals),and many researches gained international and/or national honors .
